Fragrance Composition
Every Coupiah fragrance is developed as a complete scent experience with its own distinct name, scent profile, character, and identity.
Our compositions are thoughtfully developed to create a specific fragrance experience from the opening through the drydown. The balance of notes, intensity, texture, and overall character work together to define each scent.
Fragrance notes displayed on our website describe the intended scent experience of each composition. They should not be interpreted as a complete ingredient list or as confirmation that every listed note represents an individual ingredient in the finished product.
Ingredients
Ingredient information is provided separately from fragrance note descriptions.
Coupiah offers different product formulations depending on the fragrance experience and application method.
Coupiah Fragrance Oil products contain no carrier oils.
Coupiah Scented Body Oils combine fragrance with skin conditioning oils and Vitamin E.
Always review the ingredient information provided with the individual product before use.
Skin Sensitivity & Patch Testing
Fragrance products may cause irritation or allergic reactions in some individuals.
We recommend performing a patch test before applying a new product more extensively. Apply a small amount to a limited area of skin and discontinue use if redness, burning, itching, swelling, or other irritation occurs.
Do not apply products to broken, irritated, or damaged skin.
Avoid contact with the eyes and other sensitive areas.
For external use only.
Customers with known fragrance sensitivities, allergies, skin conditions, or other concerns should carefully review product ingredients and consult an appropriate healthcare professional when necessary before use.
Almond Allergy Notice
Coupiah Scented Body Oils contain Refined Sweet Almond Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil.
Coupiah Fragrance Oil products do not contain Sweet Almond Oil or other carrier oils.
Customers with almond or tree nut allergies should carefully review the ingredient information for the specific product before purchasing or using it and consult an appropriate healthcare professional regarding individual allergy concerns.
Fragrance Performance
Fragrance longevity and projection vary from person to person.
Factors including skin type, body chemistry, climate, temperature, application method, amount applied, clothing, layering, and fragrance storage can affect how a fragrance smells and performs.
Descriptions such as long lasting, intense, rich, powerful, highly concentrated, or highly fragrant describe the intended fragrance experience and are not guarantees of a specific number of hours of wear, projection distance, or performance on every person.
Color & Appearance
Fragrance Oils may naturally vary in color, clarity, viscosity, and appearance.
Some fragrance materials may deepen or change in color over time. These variations do not necessarily indicate a change in product quality.
Because some Fragrance Oils contain naturally colored or darker fragrance materials, avoid direct contact with delicate, light colored, or easily stained fabrics and surfaces.
Product Use
Coupiah products are intended for personal cosmetic fragrance use only.
For external use only. Do not ingest.
Keep products out of reach of children and pets.
Avoid contact with eyes and other sensitive areas.
Store products securely in a cool, dry location away from excessive heat and direct sunlight.
By purchasing and using a Coupiah product, you acknowledge that fragrance experience, performance, scent perception, and individual skin responses may vary.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Coupiah?
Coupiah is an independent fragrance company specializing in highly concentrated Fragrance Oils, Scented Body Oils, and distinctive fragrance compositions created for people who want fragrance with presence.
Every Coupiah fragrance has its own name, scent profile, personality, and identity.
Our fragrances can be worn individually or incorporated into a larger scent ritual. Wear them alone, layer different Coupiah fragrances together, or pair them with fragrances already in your collection.
We believe fragrance should do more than smell good.
It should have character.
It should have presence.
It should be remembered.
Wear more. Layer boldly. Leave a trail.
What makes a Coupiah fragrance a Coupiah fragrance?
Every Coupiah fragrance is developed around a specific scent experience.
Some are bright and airy. Some are dark and commanding. Some are creamy, fruity, floral, woody, smoky, musky, gourmand, or difficult to place into a single category.
What connects them is the Coupiah standard.
Richness. Character. Presence. A scent trail worth remembering.
Each fragrance is given its own Coupiah name because that name represents the complete scent experience.
When you purchase Blue Theory, you are wearing Blue Theory.
When you purchase South of Somewhere, you are wearing South of Somewhere.
When you purchase Hollis, you are wearing Hollis.
The Coupiah name tells you what you're wearing.
Why does every fragrance have a Coupiah name?
Because you're wearing Coupiah.
Every fragrance in our collection has its own identity.
The name represents the fragrance's character, scent profile, and complete experience.
It is part of the story of the fragrance and part of the Coupiah collection.
The Coupiah name tells you what you're wearing.
What is the difference between Fragrance Oil and Scented Body Oil?
Fragrance Oil
Coupiah Fragrance Oil is our most concentrated oil based fragrance experience.
Our Fragrance Oil products contain no carrier oils.
They are not diluted with Sweet Almond Oil, Coconut Oil, Jojoba Oil, or another carrier oil.
Fragrance Oil is designed primarily for fragrance application and should be applied in smaller amounts to pulse points and other warm areas of the body.
Choose Fragrance Oil when you want the most concentrated Coupiah oil fragrance experience, want to wear your fragrance on its own, or want to create a strong fragrance foundation for layering.
Scented Body Oil
Coupiah Scented Body Oil combines fragrance with skin conditioning oils for a fragranced moisturizing experience.
Our standard Scented Body Oil is formulated with:
Refined Sweet Almond Oil • Fragrance • Vitamin E
Scented Body Oil is designed to be applied more generously over the body and works especially well after bathing or showering.
It moisturizes the skin while surrounding the body in fragrance. Wear it alone or use it as the first layer of your fragrance routine.
Does Coupiah Fragrance Oil contain carrier oils?
No.
Coupiah Fragrance Oil products contain no carrier oils.
They are not diluted with Sweet Almond Oil, Coconut Oil, Jojoba Oil, or another carrier oil.
Fragrance Oil is formulated specifically for concentrated fragrance application and should be used in smaller amounts than Scented Body Oil.
What ingredients are in Coupiah Scented Body Oil?
Our standard Scented Body Oil contains:
Refined Sweet Almond Oil • Fragrance • Vitamin E
Individual formulations may vary, so always review the ingredient information provided with your specific product before use.
Is Fragrance Oil the same as Scented Body Oil?
No.
The two products are formulated for different purposes.
Fragrance Oil contains no carrier oils and provides our most concentrated oil based fragrance experience. It is intended primarily for fragrance application and is used in smaller amounts.
Scented Body Oil contains carrier oil and is designed to moisturize the skin while providing fragrance. It can be applied more generously across the body.
If you want the most concentrated Coupiah oil fragrance experience, choose Fragrance Oil.
If you want fragrance plus moisturized, beautifully scented skin, choose Scented Body Oil.
And if you want the full Coupiah experience?
Layer them.
Where should I apply Fragrance Oil?
Apply Fragrance Oil in small amounts to warm areas of the body where natural body heat can help diffuse the fragrance.
Popular application points include the neck, behind the ears, collarbone, wrists, inner elbows, behind the knees, and ankles.
You do not need to apply fragrance to every pulse point.
Because Coupiah Fragrance Oil contains no carrier oils and is highly concentrated, start with a small amount and adjust based on the fragrance itself and how much scent presence you prefer.
How should I use Scented Body Oil?
For the best moisturizing experience, apply Scented Body Oil to clean, slightly damp skin after a bath or shower.
Massage the oil into the skin until evenly distributed.
Wear it alone for fragranced, moisturized skin or use it as the first layer of a larger fragrance routine.
Can I layer Coupiah products?
Absolutely.
Layering is at the heart of the Coupiah fragrance experience.
A simple fragrance routine can be:
Scented Body Oil → Fragrance Oil → Fragrance Spray
You can layer products with similar scent profiles to intensify a particular fragrance direction or combine complementary scents to create something completely different.
Layering can add sweetness, depth, creaminess, freshness, woods, florals, fruits, musk, spice, or warmth depending on the fragrances you choose.
Experiment.
Your favorite combination may be one nobody else thought to wear.
Can I wear Coupiah with perfume I already own?
Yes.
Coupiah fragrance products can be worn alone or incorporated into your existing fragrance routine.
A Scented Body Oil can provide a moisturized fragrance base, while Fragrance Oil can add another layer of scent before your perfume is applied.
You can match similar fragrance profiles or experiment with contrasting scents.
Your fragrance wardrobe. Your rules.
How long will my fragrance last?
There is no universal wear time for fragrance.
Longevity depends on the fragrance itself as well as your skin chemistry, skin moisture, application amount, environment, temperature, clothing, layering, and other factors.
Some fragrance profiles naturally feel heavier or more persistent than others. Deeper amber, vanilla, tobacco, oud, musk, resinous, and woody profiles may perform differently from lighter citrus, aquatic, green, floral, or fresh profiles.
Because everyone wears fragrance differently, Coupiah does not guarantee a specific number of hours of wear.
How can I help my fragrance last longer?
Fragrance often performs well on moisturized skin.
Applying Scented Body Oil after bathing can create a moisturized fragrance base before additional fragrance layers are applied.
You can then add Fragrance Oil to selected pulse points and, if desired, finish with a fragrance spray.
Layering complementary products may create a fuller scent experience than relying on a single fragrance application alone.
Climate, temperature, skin chemistry, application amount, and the fragrance itself will still affect the final result.
Why does the fragrance smell different on me?
Skin chemistry matters.
The same fragrance can smell sweeter, woodier, warmer, fresher, softer, stronger, or otherwise different from one person to another.
Temperature, skin moisture, body products, environment, and fragrances you are already wearing may also influence the final scent.
Give a fragrance time to settle and develop on your skin before deciding how you feel about it.
What are fragrance notes?
Fragrance notes describe the aromas you may experience within a scent.
Terms such as vanilla, sandalwood, rose, tobacco, peach, jasmine, oud, amber, or bergamot describe aspects of the scent profile.
They do not necessarily mean that each named note is an individual ingredient added to the product.
A fragrance note list describes how a fragrance smells.
An ingredient list describes what the product contains.
They serve different purposes.
Why does my fragrance change after I apply it?
Fragrance develops over time.
What you smell immediately after application may not be what you smell later as the fragrance warms on the skin and different aspects of the composition become more noticeable.
This development is often described as the fragrance's drydown.
Give your fragrance time to settle before judging the complete scent.
Why is my Fragrance Oil darker than another one?
Fragrance materials naturally vary in color.
Vanilla, amber, tobacco, oud, resins, spices, and other fragrance materials may produce oils ranging from nearly clear to golden, amber, brown, or darker shades.
Some Fragrance Oils may also deepen in color over time.
Color alone does not necessarily indicate fragrance strength or product quality.
Can Fragrance Oil stain clothing?
Some Fragrance Oils can stain or discolor fabric, particularly darker oils.
We recommend applying Fragrance Oil directly to the skin rather than clothing.
If you choose to apply a product to fabric, test a small, inconspicuous area first.
Avoid applying oils directly to silk, satin, white or light colored clothing, delicate fabrics, jewelry, or other materials that may stain or discolor.
Do I need to patch test?
We recommend it.
Apply a small amount of product to a limited area of skin before broader use, particularly if you have sensitive skin or are trying the product for the first time.
Discontinue use if irritation, redness, itching, burning, swelling, or another adverse reaction occurs.
Do Coupiah Scented Body Oils contain almond oil?
Yes.
Our standard Scented Body Oil contains Refined Sweet Almond Oil.
Coupiah Fragrance Oil is a different formulation and does not contain Sweet Almond Oil or another carrier oil.
If you have an almond or tree nut allergy, carefully review the ingredient information for the specific product you are purchasing or using.
Consult an appropriate healthcare professional if you have questions about your individual allergy risk.
Can I use Coupiah oils on my face?
Unless a specific Coupiah product is expressly identified as suitable for facial use, our Fragrance Oils and Scented Body Oils are intended for use on the body.
Avoid the eyes and other sensitive areas.
Can I use Coupiah oils in my hair?
Unless a product is specifically identified as suitable for hair application, use Coupiah Fragrance Oils and Scented Body Oils as directed on the body.
Different hair and scalp types may respond differently to oils and fragrance ingredients.
How should I store my fragrance?
Store your fragrance in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
Keep the product securely closed when it is not being used.
Avoid routinely storing fragrance on a sunny windowsill, near a heat source, or inside a hot vehicle.
Proper storage helps protect the fragrance from unnecessary exposure to heat, light, and environmental changes.
Are Coupiah fragrances unisex?
We believe fragrance is personal.
Some Coupiah fragrances may be identified as masculine, feminine, or unisex based on their overall scent profile and traditional fragrance conventions.
Those descriptions are intended to help you navigate the collection, not tell you what you're allowed to wear.
If you love the scent, wear the scent.
What does “Lean” mean on a Coupiah fragrance?
“Lean” is a simple guide to the overall character of a fragrance.
A fragrance marked Feminine, Masculine, or Unisex describes how the scent generally presents based on its composition and fragrance style.
It is not a rule about who can wear it.
Use Lean to help navigate the collection, then choose the fragrances that smell best to you.
Can I combine two different Coupiah fragrances?
Yes, and we encourage it.
Fragrance layering allows you to customize sweetness, freshness, depth, warmth, woods, florals, fruits, musks, spices, and other elements to create a scent experience that feels more personal.
Start with two fragrances and experiment with different combinations.
You may discover that a fragrance you already love becomes something entirely different when layered with another.
Layer it. Mix it. Make it yours.
Can I layer one Coupiah fragrance with another fragrance?
Absolutely.
Every Coupiah fragrance is designed as a complete scent experience and can be worn beautifully on its own, but that doesn't mean you can't experiment.
You can layer it with another Coupiah fragrance or incorporate it into your existing fragrance wardrobe.
The result will depend on the fragrances, application amount, and your individual skin chemistry.
Will every Coupiah fragrance perform the same way?
No.
Different fragrance profiles naturally behave differently.
A deep woody, tobacco, amber, vanilla, musk, or oud fragrance may project and develop differently from a fresh citrus, airy floral, aquatic, or clean fragrance.
Concentration is only one part of fragrance performance.
The fragrance composition itself, your skin, application method, environment, temperature, and layering routine all contribute to the final experience.
Why can't I smell my fragrance anymore when other people still can?
Sometimes your nose becomes accustomed to a fragrance after you've been wearing it for a while.
You may notice the scent less even though it is still detectable to people around you.
Before immediately applying more, give yourself some time away from the fragrance and see whether you begin noticing it again.
Do you guarantee compliments?
We love a fragrance that gets attention.
But no, we can't guarantee compliments.
Fragrance is subjective, and everyone experiences scent differently.
What we can do is create fragrances with the richness, character, and presence that define the Coupiah standard.
What happens when you walk into the room is between you and your fragrance.
What makes Coupiah different?
Coupiah is built around fragrance as an experience, not simply a product.
We create finished fragrance compositions with their own identities, personalities, and scent stories.
We also believe your fragrance experience does not have to begin and end with a single bottle.
Fragrance Oil can become the concentrated fragrance foundation.
Scented Body Oil can moisturize while surrounding the skin in fragrance.
Different fragrances can be layered.
Something already in your fragrance wardrobe can take on an entirely different character when paired with Coupiah.
And a Coupiah fragrance can become the scent people associate with you.
We're interested in fragrance with richness, longevity, presence, personality, and a memorable scent trail.
Because smelling good is only the beginning.
Still Have Questions?
Fragrance is personal, and we're happy to help you navigate the collection, understand a scent profile, or find a fragrance that fits the experience you're looking for.
Explore. Experiment. Layer.
Wear more. Layer boldly. Leave a trail.
